Bundles of shingles by roof size

Ready-made answers for common sizes, with bundle counts by pitch and waste factor.

How the shingle calculation works

Shingles are sold by the square: 100 sq ft of roof. Most shingles come 3 bundles to a square; heavier designer shingles are often 4.

Roof surface = footprint × pitch factor. Squares = roof surface ÷ 100. Bundles = squares × (1 + waste) × bundles per square, rounded up.
