1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account registration: email address, full name, Firebase authentication ID, provider information, and email verification status. Passwords and password reset flows are handled by Firebase Authentication; we do not store your password in our database.
- Calculator inputs: roof dimensions, pitch values, and cost figures you enter into the tools. These are processed in your browser and only stored server-side if you explicitly save a project.
- Saved projects and estimates: if you save a calculation or generate a shareable estimate link, the inputs and results are stored in our database linked to your account.
- Location (optional): if you use the address-stamped Pitch Gauge feature, your browser will ask for location permission. Coordinates are sent to a free reverse-geocoding service (OpenStreetMap Nominatim) to retrieve a street address, which is then overlaid on your measurement image. We do not store your GPS coordinates.
- Support messages: any email you send to our contact address.
Information collected automatically
- Usage cookie: we store a cookie named
pitch_gauge_usesto track how many times you have used the Pitch Gauge tool on this device. This cookie contains only a usage count, no personal information, and expires after 365 days. - Authentication token: when you log in, a session token is stored in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in across visits.
- Server logs: our server may log standard request information including IP address, browser type, and pages visited for security and debugging. Logs are retained for up to 30 days.
- Analytics (if enabled): we may collect anonymized data about page visits, referrers, device type, and subscription funnel events such as which feature led someone to the subscribe page. No payment details are shared with analytics providers.

3. Third-Party Services

- Cloudinary — image hosting for blog feature images uploaded through the admin panel. See Cloudinary's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics / Google tag (if enabled) — website traffic and subscription funnel analytics. We use this to understand visits, popular pages, and which feature placements lead users to checkout. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense (if enabled) — advertising network that may place cookies on your device to show relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim — free reverse-geocoding used for the address-stamped measurement feature. Your GPS coordinates are sent to their API to retrieve a street address. No account or personal data is transmitted. See OpenStreetMap Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
We use the following cookies and browser storage:
- Functional (required): the
pitch_gauge_usesusage counter cookie and your authentication token in local storage. These are necessary for the service to work and cannot be opted out of while using the site. - Analytics (optional): anonymized visit data if analytics are enabled by the site owner.
- Advertising (optional): Google AdSense cookies if ads are enabled. See Section 3 for opt-out instructions.
You can clear all cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will reset your Pitch Gauge free-use counter and sign you out of your account.
